Thank you, quiz attendees…
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended UK-Med’s Virtual Pub Quiz on 11th June. You helped raise an incredible £259 for UK-Med, and hopefully had a great time doing so.
Well done to Holly…
In April our brave Head of Fundraising Holly Smith took on the 2.6 Challenge by running 2.6 miles per day for 26 consecutive days. Holly smashed her fundraising target of £260 and raised an incredible £1,011 for UK-Med! Holly, you’re a star and we are very proud of you. The money you have raised will go very far in helping get our teams out the door to prepare for and respond to emergencies around the world.
Event updates
1. Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge
In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, we made the difficult decision to postpone our Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge until 2021 – the new date is Saturday 10th July 2021. Many of our participants are key workers who have faced a very busy and a tough couple of months and we want them to have a fantastic time, with time to fundraise and prepare.
2. Great Manchester Run and Half Marathon
Official update from the Great Run organisers:
“We have confirmed the 2020 Great North Run & the 2020 Great Manchester Run have both been cancelled, due to the ongoing public health crisis caused by Coronavirus.”
Whilst it is disappointing that the event has been cancelled, we understand that the organisers made this decision with the safety and well-being of participants in mind. We are looking at ways we can support people to complete the 10k/half marathon remotely and in line with social distancing. Updates to follow.
3. UK-Med’s Race from Manchester Virtual Cycle Challenge
We have a new date for UK-Med’s Race from Manchester Virtual Cycle Challenge which was due to take place on Saturday 18th July. The event will now take place in September – further updates to follow.
