Pre-Deployment Course

What does the Pre-Deployment course entail?

Before you start..

The International Federation of Red Cross e-learning module must be completed prior to a Pre-Deployment Course.  The course takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete and gives an overview of important health and safety considerations when working in the field. Participants are awarded a bronze, silver or gold certificate depending on their performance during the end of course assessment.  A pass at bronze level is required to proceed on to the Pre-Deployment course.

Pre-Deployment course

This two day course provides participants with an overview of the humanitarian response arena. It introduces the UN and cluster system, along with necessary safety and security information. Participants are assessed on teamwork, leadership, communication skills and clear engagement with the course and each other. On successful completion of the course, participants will be considered for membership of an on-call team. They will also be eligible for consideration to recruitment for Overseas Training Deployments.
