The Deployment Course is currently delivered in collaboration with 2nd Medical Brigade Army Field Hospitals and Cadence Consultancy. In line with WHO guidelines, participants are trained and assessed in the team they are anticipated to deploy with in an emergency response.
This is a simulation-based training course, designed to enable members of an on-call team to train together as per UKEMT guidelines. Over four days, this team-based operational deployment training brings together many of the challenges likely to be faced on deployment i.e. security risks, language difficulties, cultural considerations and team dynamics. Participants engage in small team-building exercises and workshops to familiarise themselves with practical requirements and tools in the field i.e. communications, power, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), ethics and personal kit.
Recruitment and invitation to attend a Deployment Course is by competitive selection.
