Training Overview

UK-Med equips healthcare professionals interested in humanitarian response with skills required for deployment through access to a comprehensive training programme. Our courses take place throughout the year, with a number of the courses accredited to provide CPD points.

Volunteers who wish to join a UKEMT (UK Emergency Medical Team) will progress from the Community of Practice through the core training pathway and be selected to join an on-call team. Volunteers who follow our training pathway can also access additional overseas training opportunities and are able to volunteer their skills to train others.

Invitation to the core training is by invitation, application and selection. The core training is designed using a spiral curriculum, where an idea or concept is revisited with increasing levels of complexity throughout.
