  • One-day immersive simulation offered to members based on experience
  • Developed and delivered for UK-Med by Safer Edge

About this course

After the HEAT course, some members will be invited to take part in this one-day immersive simulation. This course aims to supplement what you have already learned, give you a further chance to explore the topics raised in the HEAT course, and to give you an opportunity to practice your emerging skills.

What you will learn

You’ll develop a clearer understanding of the security risks you could face in hazardous environments, and you’ll explore issues around your personal responsibility for security risk reduction and response. By taking part in experiential learning, you’ll gain practical and realistic skills, increase your confidence and manage your expectations about working in a hazardous environment.

By undertaking this exercise:

  • You’ll be more prepared for some of the safety and security issues you may face on a response
  • You’ll be more aware of risk reduction and mitigation measures you might use
  • You’ll be more confident in fulfilling your roles and responsibilities in keeping yourself and your colleagues safe during a response.

How you will learn

This is an in-person immersive simulation exercise across one day. There will be one or two exercises per year with between twelve and twenty participants.
