After the HEAT course, some members will be invited to take part in this one-day immersive simulation. This course aims to supplement what you have already learned, give you a further chance to explore the topics raised in the HEAT course, and to give you an opportunity to practice your emerging skills.
You’ll develop a clearer understanding of the security risks you could face in hazardous environments, and you’ll explore issues around your personal responsibility for security risk reduction and response. By taking part in experiential learning, you’ll gain practical and realistic skills, increase your confidence and manage your expectations about working in a hazardous environment.

This is an in-person immersive simulation exercise across one day. There will be one or two exercises per year with between twelve and twenty participants.
This immersive simulation follows on from the HEAT Course and is open only by invitation. It’s prioritised for Register members who have limited humanitarian experience, including clinicians and non-clinicians.
