Course duration: 1 day
Course aim: Participants will learn to confidently manage a range of burns and how to ensure the best clinical outcomes for burns survivors in a humanitarian context.
Course description: This interactive one-day course run by the international burns charity Interburns provides basic burn care training to a cross-section of UK Emergency Medical Team members to allow them to more effectively respond to patients with such injuries. The creation of this course is in recognition of the fact that in a large number of the settings that the UK EMT may deploy to there is a high possibility that staff members will come into contact with patients with burn injuries.
This course covers topics such as:
· Prevention
· Infection Prevention and Hygiene
· Physical Rehabilitation
· Practical skill stations
· Surgical Management
· Paediatric Burn Issues
CPD points: We anticipate that this course will be awarded 6 hours CPD points.
Eligible specialities: This course is open to all specialities who have completed the core training pathway.
