Technical Health Advisor – Myanmar

Are you a Medical Doctor with significant humanitarian disaster response experience?

UK-Med is a humanitarian charity that has been responding to disasters for thirty years.  We train medical teams, both in the UK and worldwide, so they are ready to respond when epidemics, conflict and natural disasters hit.  When Ebola struck West Africa in 2014 we recruited and trained UK doctors and nurses who helped local medical teams and other NGOs to bring the outbreak under control.  We are core partners, providing the clinical component of the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT) in line with WHO standards.

We are working in partnership with Humanity and Inclusion (HI) to improve disaster preparedness in Myanmar, one of the world’s most hazard-prone countries.  We are seeking a medical doctor with expertise in emergency / disaster response to join us as Health Technical Advisor to the project.

As our new Health Technical Advisor, you will provide expert advice, build strategic partnerships and develop and deliver training to support the success of the project.

Our ideal candidate will combine their medical expertise with excellent partnership building and interpersonal skills.  You will thrive working independently and developing strategic approaches as well as undertaking the practical work to drive improvements in policies and practice.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits along with a friendly working environment and the opportunity to make a real difference through your work.
