UK-Med have been responding to humanitarian emergencies for over 30 years and we support local institutions and local teams in building their readiness capacity through training and mentoring of national staff.
We have deployed medical teams to provide health care after sudden onset disasters in Armenia, Iran, China, Haiti, Nepal, the Philippines; disease outbreaks in the Cape Verde Islands, Sierra Leone, Bangladesh, Samoa and conflict situations in Gaza, the Kurdish refugee crisis and the Siege of Sarajevo.
Currently, we are supporting the WHO COVID-19 pandemic response, deploying of specialist staff to work alongside Ministries of Health and WHO country offices in developing readiness and emergency preparedness.
We are currently building our capacity to send medical teams to provide primary healthcare to communities in urgent need, including a planned response to refugee communities in Greece. As part of our register, you will be eligible for deployment with our health responses.
We have urgent opportunities available as well as looking for longer-term register members so please respond as soon as possible to have the best chance of joining one of our teams.
