About UK-Med:
UK-Med is a vital partner in global health, focusing on countries vulnerable to outbreaks, natural disasters, or weakened health systems due to complex emergencies. As a key collaborator with the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT), FCDO, and the WHO, we’re at the forefront of tackling the most challenging health crises. Our work has never been more vital, with disease outbreaks and disasters becoming more frequent, complex, and severe.
Join Our Register:
At UK-Med, we maintain a diverse Register of professionals from around the world, including doctors, nurses, other healthcare experts, and humanitarian professionals. We respond to sudden onset disasters, disease outbreaks, and extraordinary health system pressures by deploying surge health teams to provide critical clinical support and expertise.
Our commitment is to ensure we’re always ready to fill crucial roles during major disasters. We build our response teams from our Register and core staff, with around 90% of personnel in our responses coming from our Register members. Selection is based on skills, competencies, availability, and readiness to ensure the best possible health outcomes for our patients.
Special Arrangement for UK NHS Staff: UK NHS personnel have a unique opportunity, allowing them to be temporarily released from their positions for deployment in three-week rotations. This arrangement offers greater flexibility for those already serving in the UK healthcare system.
