Essential Response Training course (September and October)

UK-Med will be running its Essential Response Training course across three sets of dates in September and October 2021. 

This blended online training offers an excellent opportunity to learn more about what to expect when responding with UK-Med and the UK EMT, as well as to interact with fellow UK-Med Register members and members of UK-Med staff at HQ.

Course details

The Essential Response Training course covers a range of important topics relevant to anyone responding with UK-Med and UK EMT, including:

  • Cultural Sensitivity
  • Negotiations and Conflict Management
  • Safety, Security & Staff Health
  • Media & Comms
  • Realities of deployment & Sustainability

The material is covered across five self-directed E-learning modules, to be completed in advance of a live full-day virtual classroom. The classroom will be led by subject matter expert, to a maximum of 20 participants per session. The classrooms will take place on the following days:

  • Wednesday 22 September 2021
  • Friday 1 October 2021
  • Thursday 14 October 2021

During the course, participants will have access to a wide range of additional resources to enrich their learning experience, including:

  • Video and podcasts recorded by our members who recount their first-hand experiences of responding
  • Interactive scenarios
  • Reflection logs
  • Links to curated content for wider reading
  • Downloadable PDFs that participants can refer to after completion of the course

Participants will undertake an assessment at the end of the course to confirm their learning.
