KEEP OUR WORK IN GAZA GOING

After the intense conflict in Gaza came to a ceasefire in October 2025 our work hasn’t stopped. Thousands of people still require essential healthcare.

The conflict destroyed many health facilities in Gaza, so our field hospitals and healthcare centres remain vital for the population.

UK-Med teams have provided over one million consultations to people in Gaza so far. We run two field hospitals and 2 healthcare centres, employing more than 500 local staff who are working alongside international medics (many of them from the NHS) to provide vital medical aid.

How UK-Med is responding

Since arriving January 2024, we have provided more than one million consultations to people in Gaza. Here’s what we’ve delivered so far:

Al Mawasi Field Hospital

Currently seeing hundreds of people a day, the hospital at Al Mawasi was initially built entirely from materials salvaged from the local area.

To allow us to meet the increased need and carry out vital surgeries, we later added a tented field hospital, flown in from Manchester.  

Our field hospital in Al Mawasi includes: 

  • An operating theatre for lifesaving surgical procedures. 
  • A maternal and child health unit, which has seen hundreds of births 
  • An emergency department for urgent care. 
  • Multiple in-patient wards, including a paediatric ward
  • A High Dependency Unit for critical care
  • Physical rehabilitation services to help severely injured patients heal and recover. 

Deir El Balah Field Hospital

In response to the overwhelming health needs in Gaza, we constructed a second field hospital in Deir El Balah. This hospital provides primary healthcare, maternal healthcare, pharmacy services, and vitally takes the burden off hospitals dealing with emergencies.

£100 could fund a surgical pack including gowns, gloves, caps and facemasks

£300 could cover the cost of ten patients consultations
