HR Advisor / Business Partner

Can your HR expertise help UK-Med provide life-saving humanitarian health care

Humanitarian health needs are growing. Our medical teams respond to disasters around the world and we work with local emergency teams to build their resilience to future threats. Our work has never been more vital, with disasters becoming more frequent, complex and severe. Can you help build a world prepared to help?

We are seeking a skilled HR professional with relevant overseas field experience in humanitarian / fast-paced development contexts. As our new HR Advisor / Business Partner you will play a key role in supporting HR planning and operations for our humanitarian operations. You will help develop our systems for hiring national staff, and partner with operational leads and health experts to plan resourcing for different responses. You will contribute to our workforce planning and development of our registers of medical and non-medical international responders. You will bring broad generalist HR expertise and experience working in the field, to enable you to play a key role across every aspect of our HR operations.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about both UK-Med’s humanitarian mission and the power of the HR function to support successful programming. You will have experience working overseas in humanitarian or fast-paced development work, ideally in humanitarian health. You will be experienced and expert in HR and a true generalist with experience across the full spectrum of HR activity including recruitment, selection, pre-employment screening, performance management, employee relations and organisational development.

You will be comfortable working at pace and thrive on achieving challenging objectives and meeting rapidly changing demands. You will be happy to deploy with our teams as required and comfortable working stand-alone in field settings with remote support from HQ. We offer a competitive salary and benefits along with a friendly working environment and the opportunity to make a real difference through humanitarian work. UK-Med is a growing and developing organisation with a committed team of staff, volunteers and members. This role is a truly exciting opportunity to help develop our people to meet the challenges and opportunities our growth presents.
