Role: ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Officer
Salary: c. £35,000 gross annual
Hours: Full-time
Duration: Fixed-term to 30 September 2021 with possibility of extension
Location: UK-Med Office / Warehouse, Manchester / Stockport, UK with UK travel and deployment overseas
Deployment: You are likely to be deploy overseas in support of our health teams. You must be fit to deploy and agree to undertake medical assessments to confirm this fitness.
UK-Med has grown rapidly over the last few years, increasing our income, impact and diversity of donors and grants. As a key partner on the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT) we work closely with DFID and the WHO, whilst also growing our own portfolio of programmes. Our work has never been more vital, with disease outbreaks and disasters becoming more frequent, complex and severe.
We are seeking an experienced ICT Officer to lead on ICT across the organisation and the UK EMT programme. You will be a flexible ICT professional able to work at every level from strategy development to practical implementation and upgrade of systems. Our ideal candidate will have experience of ICT systems support and development within the humanitarian sector and will holding a recognised professional IT, telecommunications, or systems qualification. In this new post you will support UK-Med’s Logistics Manager in the management, development, and implementation of existing and new ICT systems both in the UK and in support of deployed emergency response teams. You will work across a portfolio of projects, and support department leads across the organisation as focal point for all aspects of ICT.
With the expertise to develop and implement high quality and effective ICT systems, you will be comfortable working at pace and thrive on achieving challenging objectives and meeting rapidly changing demands.
