This Induction Course is the first learning activity that new members of the Register, and new core staff, will undertake. It will clarify who we are in UK-Med, what we do, how we do it – and why it’s important to us. It will give you a thorough introduction to our ways of working, our humanitarian approaches and our operational methodologies.
This course is for you to gain essential and up-to-date knowledge about UK-Med, and it serves as a foundation for further learning and specialist training. With a solid basic understanding of our history, values and mission, programme priorities and ways of working, you’ll feel confident in representing UK-Med on responses and as core team members.

Our Induction Course is an online, self-directed module that you undertake at your own pace. There are knowledge checks after each section but there is no final assessment. There will also be some compulsory reading material which is linked in the online course, which will take a further hour, and some suggestions for further optional reading.
This course is for everyone who is joining UK-Med, regardless of background or specialism. It’s a vital introduction for clinicians and non-clinicians, core staff and aspiring Register members.
