UK-Med Blended Hazardous Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) – December

UK-Med will be running our Hazardous Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) course  in  December 2021.

Training structure

In total, the training consists of 15 online modules and three one-hour live zoom sessions.

Participants will need to complete modules 1 – 5 for reflection and discussion in the first live session, modules 6 – 10 for reflection and discussion in the second live session and modules 11- 15 for reflection and discussion in the third live session.

The sessions are led by a safety and security expert from our HEAT training provider Safer Edge.

Time commitment

Participants will need to commit to attending all three of the live sessions on the following dates:

  • 1st8th and 15th December 08.30-09.30 UK time  

In addition, participants will need to commit to completing 5-7 hours of self-directed online study per week, to complete all the modules in time for each of the live one-hour session with the trainer.

Please note that whilst it is worth considering taking study leave due to the time commitment required, UK-Med is not able to cover any associated costs. The HEAT course is CPD accredited.

Who can apply?

Please note that the number of places available on this training is limited and places will only be allocated to those who have already completed the pre-requisite tasks at the time of applying to attend the blended HEAT course.

Please only apply for this training once you have completed the pre-requisite tasks outlined below, as a place will not be allocated to you unless you have.

Pre-requisite tasks  

  • The Deployment Course
  • UK-Med Induction Pathway which includes:
    • UN BSAFE
    • UK EMT Induction
    • UK-Med Induction (Please note that if a place is allocated to you, if you have not done so already, you will be asked to complete the UK-Med Induction, which is currently being redeveloped and only open upon invitation).
  • UK-Med Safeguarding Pathway which includes:
    • Safeguarding Essentials
    • Introduction to UK-Med Safeguarding
    • Sign up to a forthcoming Safeguarding reflections session via this form.
