Remember us in your will

Your gift will fund the growth of frontline emergency medical care.

Did you know:

We were the first UK charity to be verified as an Emergency Medical Team by the World Health Organization?

We have over 1500 expert health staff, including from the NHS, who can be at the frontline of a crisis within 24-48 hours?

We partner with national healthcare teams to strengthen their lasting response skills?

We run field hospitalsmobile health clinics and we have specialist trauma teams?

We are no ordinary charity. We are the best of the NHS at the worst of times.

In 1988, our founder Professor Sir Tony Redmond, led our first international response. Since then, according to the UN, the number of conflicts around our fragile world has doubled

In 1988, Tony led a team of eight Manchester clinicians to Armenia, when a huge earthquake ripped through the north of the country; killing 60,000 people and destroying nearly half a million buildings. This was the charity’s very first international response, and paved the way for our future responses.

Over the next ten years, the team responded to a number of crises, including a cholera outbreak response in Cape Verde following the Pico Volcan eruption in 1995, as well as the siege of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1992-1995). In the Sarajevo trauma centre, UK-Med organised surgical teams to work  supporting local staff in their management of war injuries.

In 1995, UK-Med was officially registered as a charity and continued its emergency responses across the world.

Our life-saving work today is funded by grants from governments and donations from the public.

But it is gifts in wills which will help us grow and sustain our frontline services, to be at the side of future communities experiencing crises and war.

The power of compassion

One individual can change change the world. Tony changed the world by founding UK-Med. Please consider joining that legacy and let UK-Med be there when it matters for the next 40+ years.
