This is a non-mandatory course that follows the compulsory Safeguarding Pathway that all UK-Med Register members undertake. The course is a blend between self-directed learning and live sessions delivered by safeguarding experts, and has an in-depth focus on safeguarding procedures and reporting. Course participants will be equipped and eligible to take on the role of Safeguarding Focal Point in UK-Med responses.
The Advanced Safeguarding Course focuses on the role and responsibilities of a designated Safeguarding Focal Point in the field. Safeguarding Focal Points are expected to actively contribute to the implementation of UK-Med’s safeguarding policies and procedures, and to undertake risk assessments. After the course you’ll know when and how to escalate concerns. You’ll maintain a survivor-centred approach throughout.
