Fundraising is so much more than raising money. Our Community Fundraiser Hannah shares five reasons why you should fundraise for UK-Med and the difference you’ll make.
1. Because there’s something for everyone
Running, cycling, singing, dancing, sewing, baking, gaming, DJing… the list of ways to fundraise for us is endless.
Whether it’s an old hobby or you’re trying something new, there are tons of ways to raise money for UK-Med. It can take up as much or as little time as you like, and we’ll support you every step of the way.

2. Because you get to challenge yourself
Stepping outside your comfort zone to take on a challenge can be daunting, but you will grow in confidence once you see the difference you can make. Whatever you do to fundraise, what you can achieve will always surprise you.
3. Because it’s a chance to engage your community
Raising money brings people together to support a cause you all believe in. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people or find new talents you didn’t know family, friends, neighbours, or colleagues had.
Sharing your good news stories with your community not only helps to increase your donations, it inspires others around you too.
“I had countless inspiring conversations with people who were eager to do their bit to help – it was really uplifting to see how kind and thoughtful people can be.”
– Joe Stafford, who raised over £3000 for UK-Med by cycling 1600km
4. Because it makes you feel great
Fundraising for UK-Med means being involved in a good cause, knowing the money you raise is helping to save lives, and support some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
We are proud to say that 92p of every £1 donated goes directly to our frontline medical work, giving you the confidence that you really are making a difference.
5. Because if not you, who? If not now, when?
We rely on donations from the public to carry out the vital, lifesaving work we do. With disasters becoming more frequent and more deadly year on year, we’re needed more than ever.
Your donations mean we can be ready to respond to the next health crisis whenever and wherever it occurs.
